The Journey

This track crosses a street named after the photographer’s father in a city built because the railroad came to town. These were tracks his father walked as a young immigrant teenager in the early 1900’s selling candy along the east coast, later becoming a successful businessman and community leader. The image is iconic in that personal way and became the cover print of the photographer’s first book, “in Search of His Image, A Photographic Journey”. But it is universally emblematic with the sun striking the track at the juncture of decision. Which way to go, which route to take?
