Palmetto State

This print is an iconic South Carolina image, evocative of the state’s flag. The negative was taken in 1996 on the beach of Hobcaw Barony, a wildlife preserve with six miles of isolated coastline and thousands of acres on the coast of South Carolina. The preserve was made possible with a trust from Belle Baruch, daughter of Bernard Baruch, financial advisor to seven presidents and a close friend to F.D.R. and
Sir Winston Churchill.

The preserve is next door to Debordieu, a pristine island community with twenty seven hundred acres and a few hundred homes nestled amid salt marsh, creeks, and woodlands next to the sea, only an hour south to Charleston, less north to Myrtle Beach.

Purchasing Information

Images are professionally printed on Epson Enhanced Matte Paper which results in highly saturated images, maintaining excellent highlight and shadow details, with an archival matte finish - perfect for framing.
